Medium chain triglycerides are fats with 6 to 12 carbons in the chain. This article aims at exploring the health benefits of MCT oil that is a supplement generally used in coffee, salad dressings, and smoothies. Natural MCT is found in palm kernel oil, coconut oil and in dairy products. Unlike long-chain fatty acids, MCT is directly absorbed into the portal circulation and transported to the liver.
