How to Leave Camp
Baldur’s Gate 3 will sometimes force you to camp without giving you the option to do so. At any moment, you can return to your camp by selecting it from the Camp and Resting Menu (the button that looks like a campfire in the bottom-right corner of the screen) and then selecting Go to camp.
The best part about the Camp and Resting Menu is that the same button you use to enter camp can be used to exit camp. To pack up and head off, select “Leave Camp” from the Camp and Resting Menu.
You can even relax on the bedrolls arranged around the campfire before breaking camp, recreating the atmosphere of a fantastic journey. Clicking them when you arrive in camp will activate a Long Rest. When you’re ready to go, just click the bedrolls in the middle of camp to pack up and go.
How Do you Use Camp?
In Baldur’s Gate 3, you can camp by clicking the campfire icon on your HUD and then selecting “Long Rest” from the resulting menu. Locate it near the bottom of your display. Once you give the go-ahead, you and your party will be transported back to base instantly.
The camp serves as your base of operations, remaining open and accessible throughout the game but undergoing aesthetic changes to represent your approximate location. It’s your major stop for respite in between the expedition across the wilderness of the Forgotten Realms. This includes full rests (or long rests), partial rests and short rests (though these can be done outside of your safe haven too).
Taking long rests does cost you to expend 40 camp supplies each time. Fortunately, there are lots of food and drink items distributed around the game in random boxes and barrels. You can also buy them from vendors. This means that getting these commodities shouldn’t be an issue as long as you take the time to scour random containers.
