The First Descendant Bunny Quest Guide

In The First Descendant, “Follow the Traces” is the first quest in Bunny’s exclusive questline, which delves into her past. This guide will help you navigate through the quest and its subsequent stages, uncovering Bunny’s backstory and earning unique rewards.

Requirements

To begin Bunny’s questline, you need to unlock Bunny as a playable character and progress through the main story quests to unlock the Sterile Lands region, specifically the Restricted Zone.

Quest 1: “Follow the Traces”

Steps to Complete

First, head to the Sterile Lands – Restricted Zone. This area becomes accessible after completing specific story quests. Look for the purple quest markers that lead you to unlock the Repository region first, then the Restricted Zone within the Repository.

Once in the Restricted Zone, your objective is to locate a Record (journal entry) related to Bunny’s parents. The Record is located on the southern border of the map, near the cliff edge close to a High-Powered Jammer. Walk up to the Record and interact with it (hold “E” by default) to pick it up.

To read the Record, open your menu, navigate to the Journal section, and select Records under Descendant. Find the newly acquired record (it might have a red exclamation point) and read it to learn more about Bunny’s past. This unlocks the next part of the questline, “The Traces Continue.”

Tips

If you have trouble locating the Records, visual guides or walkthroughs can be helpful.

Quest 2: “The Traces Continue” in Vespers

Requirements

To proceed, you need to complete the “Follow the Traces” quest and unlock the Vespers region, which typically happens after completing specific story quests in the Sterile Lands.

Steps to Complete

Travel to Vespers by progressing through the main story quests until you gain access to the region. Within Vespers, locate the Ruins area. The Records are hidden high up on a structure close to the location marked for the “Void Fragment” mission objective in the Ruins. This mission marker is usually near the entrance/exit of The Lumber Yard, the first area in Vespers.

Use your character’s grappling hook to climb the stone structure near the Void Fragment objective. It’s on the southeastern edge of this structure. Once you reach the top, locate the Records and interact with it (hold “E” by default) to pick it up.

Outcome

Picking up the Records advances the quest and unlocks the next part, “In Search of the Relic,” which takes place in the Echo Swamp.

Additional Tips

If you have trouble finding the specific structure or the Records’ location, online guides or walkthroughs can be useful. Remember, you need to be playing as Bunny for this quest to progress.

Quest 3: “In Search of the Relic” in Echo Swamp

Requirements

To begin this stage, you need to complete “The Traces Continue” quest and unlock the Echo Swamp region, which usually happens after defeating Vespers and the Executioner Void Intercept Battle.

Steps to Complete

Travel to Echo Swamp by heading to the world map and selecting Echo Swamp. Within Echo Swamp, reach the Derelict Covert, the final area located on the northern side of the map. Inside Derelict Covert, you’ll find giant tower structures you can climb. The Records for Bunny’s quest are on the tallest tower.

Once you reach the peak, locate and interact with the Records (hold “E” by default). Reading it in your Journal (Descendant -> Records) progresses the quest. Afterward, speak with Anais in Albion to receive the next quest objective.

Additional Tips

Utilize online video guides or walkthroughs if you have trouble finding the specific tower or Records’ location. Ensure you’re playing as Bunny for the quest to progress.

Quest Rewards

Completing Bunny’s exclusive questline “Follow the Traces” grants two main rewards: the Crystallization Catalyst and the Teddy Bear Chest Attachment. The Crystallization Catalyst is a valuable resource used for crafting and upgrading equipment, enhancing your gear’s stats and performance. The Teddy Bear Chest Attachment is a cosmetic item that adds a personalized touch to Bunny’s appearance.

Additional Notes

While the Crystallization Catalyst offers a concrete gameplay benefit, the Teddy Bear Chest Attachment is purely cosmetic and doesn’t affect your character’s stats. There are no reports of guaranteed drops for additional rewards beyond these two main ones. Some players have mentioned getting equipment mods upon quest completion, but it appears to be random.

By following this guide, you should be able to successfully complete Bunny’s questline, uncover her backstory, and enjoy the rewards and lore that come with it.
