Gran Turismo 7 PS5, PS4 Has Been Offline All Day

Published

Here’s why having an online-only experience isn’t a smart idea, my friends: We put this article on hold for the majority of today, expecting Polyphony Digital to restore Gran Turismo 7 to full functionality as soon as possible – but it’s been nearly ten hours and the racer that fans recently paid £69.99/$69.99 for is still essentially unplayable due to an extended maintenance window that doesn’t appear to be coming to an end any time soon.

The game was pulled offline earlier today for scheduled maintenance, which had been communicated to users by the Japanese developer in advance of the event. There were no expectations that it would take more than an hour, and it was scheduled to coincide with the most recent Grand Theft Auto 7 patch. “Due to a problem discovered in Update 1.07, we will be extending the Server Maintenance time,” the company said in an update issued shortly after that.

In addition, a spokeswoman stated, “We will tell everyone as soon as possible when this is expected to be done.” We sincerely apologize for any trouble this has caused you and ask for your patience as we strive to rectify the situation.” As of the time of publication of this story, this was uploaded roughly ten hours ago, and there is still no indication as to when the game will be available for play.

All things considered, it hasn’t been a good day for Gran Turismo 7, since the game’s latest patch changed some of the incentives for racing, resulting in a significant reaction against the game’s micro transactions. It’s a big pity, because the simulation racer has been riding a fantastic high since its release, with fans gushing over how great the product has turned out. Unexpected downtime and some arbitrary modifications now threaten to undo all of that hard work and good fortune.
