How to Sleep in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
The fact that you can sleep in the game just like you would in real life is one of the reasons why Animal Crossing: New Horizons is classified as a life simulation game. You might believe that the only things you can do in the game are build, interact, and finish mini-tasks, but you’ll be surprised to find out that you can do all of those things. You also have the option to dream, and if you want to, you can probably go across time.
However, this is not the end of the story; you can also have dreams in which you can visit the islands of other players without them having to extend an invitation to you. However, this feature is exclusive to subscribers of Nintendo Switch Online. Keep reading if you want to find out how to dream in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and how to sleep in the game, as that is covered in this article!

How to Sleep in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Your initial opportunity to get some shut-eye in Animal Crossing: New Horizons will present itself towards the conclusion of the introduction sequence when you initially begin the game. You will receive a prompt from Tom Nook instructing you to go to sleep in the makeshift tent you have constructed for yourself. The following is the procedure to follow:
- Once you have received the instruction from Tom Nook, you should proceed to your tent. If there is nothing in the tent that you can use to decorate it or interact with, you should open your inventory.
- Use the ZL shortcut to scroll to the left. This refers to a piece of furniture that you will use to sleep on until you can afford to upgrade to a better bed.
- Choose the piece of furniture, which is a camping bed, and position it wherever you like inside of your tent.
- Turn your back on the bed and jump on it.
- You will be prompted to go to sleep for the day at the appropriate time. To turn off your screen and prepare for a new day, choose the “Yeah, I want to Sleep” option from the drop-down menu.
Take note that this particular sleeping experience can only be had once during the entirety of the game. You will not be awoken to a new day just by returning to your bed multiple times throughout the day. If you hop into the bed from this point forward, your character will only be able to sleep there.
FAQs
Can I put animal crossing in sleep mode?
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you’ll have the opportunity to get some shut-eye during the tutorial portion of the game by heading to bed in advance of the main game proper. However, once you pass that stage, you will never again have the desire to sleep. In spite of the fact that you will inevitably become exhausted in real life, the inhabitants of Animal Crossing: New Horizons will never do so.
What’s the point of dreaming in Animal Crossing?
The dreaming feature in New Horizons is very similar to the Dream Suite feature in New Leaf. It not only enables players to upload and share “dreams” of their islands to the internet, but it also enables players to visit other players’ dream islands by using a specific Dream address or by selecting “Surprise me!” after.
How do you pass time in Animal Crossing?
Proceed to the home screen and check to see if Animal Crossing is turned off there. When you start up Animal Crossing again, you will find that you have travelled across time!
What is the 478 method?
The 4-7-8 breathing technique, often known as the “relaxing breath,” consists of taking a breath in for 4 seconds, holding it for 7 seconds, and then releasing it for 8 seconds. Some proponents of the practise believe that it can help people fall asleep in as little as one minute.
