Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet Coming to Nintendo Switch
Pokémon Day is celebrated on February 27, the anniversary of the release of the Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green video games in Japan in 1996. We began off our Pokémon Day celebrations with a special Pokémon Presents hosted by Tsunekazu Ishihara, president of The Pokémon Company, and Takato Utsunomiya, Chief Operating Officer of The Pokémon Company, who were both in attendance. It was revealed at the presentation that the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet games, the next Pokémon RPGs that will be released on the Nintendo Switch later this year, will be shown for the first time, as well as a slew of other Pokémon-related updates.
You can watch this episode of Pokémon Presents above, and you can read our summary of what Mr. Ishihara and Mr. Utsunomiya had to say in their own words.
Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet
Our first peek at Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, two future open-world adventures for the Nintendo Switch, came at the conclusion of the Pokémon Presents event on Wednesday night. Because there will be a new territory to explore and new Pokémon to find in these next chapters in the Pokémon RPG series, Pokémon enthusiasts across the world should be excited.
