Opening the “Breakable Structure” Wall in the Untamed Downs
The Untamed Downs can be accessed via the Rambler’s Reach Outpost, but I’m going to presume that you’re following the plot and coming from the Bygone Settlement. The Untamed Downs can be accessed via a steep incline. Turn right at the bottom of the slope, and you should notice a little cave entrance. The cave with the breakable door and the horrors inside.
If there are still adversaries in the cave, you shouldn’t try to shatter the door until you’ve eliminated them. Go into the cave if you haven’t previously and slaughter everything inside. If you die in the cave, the enemies shouldn’t respawn. If you were killed, though, you need to clear the area again before you go searching for roller mines.
I’m going to presume that you’ve already destroyed some easily damaged buildings in the Derelict Dam area and are familiar with the effectiveness of roller mines. In the Untamed Downs, roller mines can be found close to the base’s entrance. Leave the breakable door cave and continue past the slope that leads back to the Bygone Settlement. The entrance to the base is around to the left.
Many roller mines are buried in the sand around the base and within the entrance. Several is excessive; only one will do. Getting even one of them to return with you to the vulnerable door is a major challenge. Unfortunately, the monsters between the raider stronghold and the cave with the weak door keep respawning. Plus, the roller mines are incredibly temperamental. They may begin following you from afar, or they may choose to ignore you completely despite your proximity. It was very difficult because I had to try multiple times before succeeding.
In the end, I found that destroying all of the roller mines surrounding the base and then spawning one using the spawner to the left of the base entrance was the most effective tactic. However, it will appear close to you, so be prepared to run and jump away. When you leave the cave’s base, send it trailing after you and return on horseback. Ignore any foes until the mine starts targeting them, at this point, you’ll need to eliminate them before the mine explodes (or lure it back to you).
A fast application of Force may be required if your roller mine becomes stalled outside the cave entrance. Don’t throw it; instead, pull it and immediately let go. Although challenging, this can be accomplished. Have it follow you to the flooded portion of the cave, then toss it against the breakable door to shatter it. Both the Santari Khri lightsaber and the Shelter of Last Resort Databank are now available to you.
