How To dm On Twitter

Published

A direct message, often known as a DM, is a private communication that may be sent with one or more users of Twitter via the Twitter website or the Twitter mobile app. However, direct messages are not encrypted. It is a form of communication that is only semi-private that allows users to converse with one another without the message being broadcast to the whole of Twitter.

However, Twitter does not enable users to direct message anybody and everyone. In order to send a direct message to another Twitter user, that person must either already be following your account or have the option in their Twitter settings activated that allows them to accept DMs from people that they do not follow (businesses commonly enable this option). In addition, if you have blocked another user, or if another user has blocked you, you will not be able to utilise direct messages until the blocks have been lifted.

FAQ’s

On Twitter, how do you DM someone who isn’t a follower of yours?

To get someone’s attention when sending a direct message on Twitter, even if you don’t follow them, you may include their handle (such as @abc123) at the start of a tweet. Why am I unable to send a direct message to a Twitter user?

What’s up with Direct Messages not going through? A maximum of 1,000 Direct Messages may be sent each day per account. There is a limit on the number of Direct Messages that may be sent every day. Verifying your phone number is necessary if you are sending Direct Messages to accounts that are not following you.

What does DM mean on Twitter?
