Minecraft is experimenting with frogs ahead of the next update

Published

The new frog mobs in Minecraft won’t be available until version 1.19, but you can play around with them in Bedrock 1.18.10 now.

Minecraft Bedrock is currently testing the new frog mobs that will be included in version 1.19 once it is released in 2022 as part of the Wild Update. Frogs, their little tadpole babies, and numerous of its new features may all be found in the latest edition of Minecraft for Windows.

Frog mobs are known to appear in swamp biomes, where they spend their time snatching fireflies from the air and jumping on Dripleafs. For example, we were already aware that tadpoles hatch into three distinct species of frogs depending on the habitat in which they mature. Frogs were also hinted to by Mojang, although they didn’t reveal exactly how they would benefit gamers.

In the patch notes for Bedrock 1.18.10, frogs are shown to be able to do a variety of tasks, which is both exciting and ridiculous. A major element in current recipes like Sticky Pistons and Leads is Slime Balls, which frogs may change into by eating little Slime foes.

As it turns out, frogs likewise enjoy the heat of their foes. Froglights may be created by eating microscopic Magma Cubes, which are subsequently consumed by the frogs. Froglights, like Glowstone Blocks and Sea Lanterns, appear to be a good ornamental light source, as do the Frogs. This is just like the variety of frogs, which come in three distinct sorts. It’s a great idea!
