Netflix is Pleads Viewers to Stop Doing ‘Bird Box Challenges’

Published

Bird Box is a new Horror/ Suspense Netflix Movie starring Sandra Bullock. The movie was seen by 45 million viewers during the first week of it’s debut. In the movie the monster can be evaded by blindfolding oneself and not look at it directly for if you do, you will kill yourself. So the movie is about people learning to live with blindfolds on and survive without using sight. Now as it may seem, viewers have found a new game a meme if you will that they are calling the “bird box challenge.”

Bird Box

“Please Do Not Hurt Yourselves With This Bird Box Challenge, We don’t know how this started, and we appreciate the love, but Boy and Girl have just one wish for 2019 and it is that you not end up in the hospital due to memes.”

Netflix’s U.S. account tweeted

The challenge itself is to blindfolding oneself and complete tasks and although some are doing OK but others, as the tweet above suggests, are being seriously injured by it. Some of these attempts are going viral on the social media, one being viewed more than 83,000 times and counting on Twitter.

Now clearly the child in the video got hurt and the adults seem to be oblivious of the fact having fun. Sad thing is that people are being encouraged to do better but no one seems to point out the stupidity of it all. People are doing this challenge while driving, while walking up and down the stairs, in public and lots more. I am not sure what the point is but why are we waiting for someone to get hurt beyond repair or worse.

We must be responsible and not encourage or take part in this insanity. Please spread the word and make sure those around you are not doing these challenges.
