PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now come together; players can choose from three flexible options.

Published

Sony Interactive Entertainment has been at the forefront of innovation when it comes to gaming subscription services since introducing PlayStation Plus in 2010. We were happy to be the first console membership programme to offer a newly updated library of games through PlayStation Plus, and to have also released the first console game streaming service with PlayStation Now, both of which were firsts for the industry.

Today, we are glad to share with you formal information on changes that will be made to our subscription services in the near future. This June, we’ll be merging PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now into a single, all-new PlayStation Plus subscription service that will provide users additional options across three membership tiers throughout the world.

Our primary focus is on providing high-quality, handpicked material to our users while also offering a varied selection of games*. The following is a description of the three membership tiers:

The addition of the Extra and Premium categories marks a significant step forward for PlayStation Plus. Our primary emphasis with these levels is to ensuring that the hundreds of games we provide will have the highest-quality material that distinguishes us from the competition. In terms of titles, we want to add games such as Death Stranding, God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Mortal Kombat 11, and Returnal when the service first launches. With the help of our inventive creators from PlayStation Studios and third-party partners, we’re putting together a collection of some of the finest gaming experiences available in a format that will be continually updated. More information on the titles that will be available on our new PlayStation Plus service will be released in the near future.

The PlayStation Now service will be integrated into the new PlayStation Plus subscription when it begins, and it will no longer be accessible as an independent service after that date. Customers of PlayStation Now will be migrated over to PlayStation Plus Premium at no additional cost to their current membership costs at the time of launch.
