Predator BiFrost RX 7600, the company’s first AMD GPU, is available from Acer for $274

Published

The Predator BiFrost RX 7600 is Acer’s introduction into the graphics card market and marks the company’s first effort into creating unique AMD Radeon graphics cards. This action comes after Acer declared interest in producing AMD and Nvidia graphics cards at Computex 2023. The BiFrost cooler, also present in the Arc A770 and Arc A750 models, is found in the Predator BiFrost RX 7600. This cooling method uses a vapour chamber to move heat from the heatsink to the heatsink, where two cooling fans of various sizes effectively remove heat from the case. The Arc A770, a 225W GPU, is kept cool by the card’s unique design, which is also intended to handle the Radeon RX 7600 with its 60W lower TDP without any problems.

The dual-slot Predator BiFrost RX 7600 is the same size as the Predator BiFrost Intel Arc A770, measuring 10.5 x 4.6 inches (267 x 117.75 mm). This indicates that Acer probably used the Radeon RX 7600 cooler as its new intended use. The custom model, however, is longer than AMD’s base Radeon RX 7600, which could present problems for small-form-factor (SFF) scenarios. Specifications for the Acer Predator BiFrost Radeon RX 7600:

Predator BiFrost Radeon RX 7600 OC:

  • Game Clock (MHz): 2,320
  • Boost Clock (MHz): 2,725
  • TDP (W): 180
  • Power Connector: 8-pin PCIe
  • Dimensions: 10.5 x 4.6 inches (267 x 117.75 mm)
  • Video Outputs: 1 x HDMI 2.1, 3 x DisplayPort 1.4
  • Warranty: 3 Years
  • Part Number: DP.Z36WW.P02
  • MSRP: $290

Predator BiFrost Radeon RX 7600:

  • Game Clock (MHz): 2,250
  • Boost Clock (MHz): 2,655
  • TDP (W): 170
  • Power Connector: 8-pin PCIe
  • Dimensions: 10.5 x 4.6 inches (267 x 117.75 mm)
  • Video Outputs: 1 x HDMI 2.1, 3 x DisplayPort 1.4
  • Warranty: 3 Years
  • Part Number: DP.Z36WW.P01
  • MSRP: $274

The Predator BiFrost Radeon RX 7600 operates at a boost frequency of 2,655 MHz and a game clock of 2,250 MHz by AMD’s reference specs. However, compared to the reference model, Acer ranks the Predator BiFrost Radeon RX 7600 with a little higher 170W TDP. Predator BiFrost Radeon RX 7600 OC, on the other hand, offers a small factory overclock with a game clock increased to 2,320 MHz and a boost clock to 2,725 MHz. Performance in the actual world is unlikely to be much impacted by this insignificant 3% improvement. This variant has a 180W TDP, 15W more than the Radeon RX 7600 standard.

While Acer chose to use DisplayPort 1.4 on the Predator BiFrost Radeon RX 7600, the Radeon RX 7600 supports the DisplayPort 2.1 standard. The graphics card provides three DisplayPort 1.4 outputs and one HDMI 2.1 output. Users wanting to use the graphics card at higher refresh rates and resolutions may encounter problems. However, it should be noted that using the Radeon RX 7600 for 8K gaming is not frequent; the card is better suited for applications focused on productivity.
