RAM on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max has been upgraded to 8GB.
This is an increase from the 6GB of RAM that was included in the iPhone 14 Pro handsets that belonged to the generation before this one. The amount of random access memory (RAM) that is included in iPhones is a secret that Apple chooses not to share with the general public. The addition of additional random access memory (RAM) makes a contribution to an improvement in the system’s overall performance. This is especially true in relation to the system’s ability to juggle many tasks at the same time.
There are files in the Xcode 15 Release Candidate that were made available today that confirm the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, which are Apple’s entry-level devices, come equipped with 6GB of random access memory (RAM), while the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max each include 8GB of RAM. This information was gleaned from the files in the Xcode 15 Release Candidate. The Xcode 15 Release Candidate for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus were the locations where the information was discovered.
Previously used amounts of RAM:
- iPhone 14: 6GB
- iPhone 14 Plus: 6GB
- iPhone 14 Pro: 6GB
- iPhone 14 Pro Max: 6GB
The new amounts of RAM are:
- iPhone 15: 6GB
- iPhone 15 Plus: 6GB
- iPhone 15 Pro: 8GB
- iPhone 15 Pro Max: 8GB
The very same Xcode files disclosed the specific amounts of random access memory (RAM) that were included in the iPhone 14 models that had been made available a year prior, in addition to the amounts of RAM that were included in a number of generations of iPhones that came before that. The type of random access memory (RAM) that is included in the various iPhone 15 versions is unknown at this moment; however, upcoming disassemblies of the handsets should quickly provide confirmation of this information.
