How To Mute Teammates in Apex Legends

Published

Have some buddies that tend to get a little carried away while they’re using voice comms? Are you sick and tired of being placed on a team with people from different nations who insist on speaking a language that you do not understand? Ping instead of using your voice if you’d like have some music playing in the background. If that’s the case, you’ve come to the right place, because in this video I’m going to teach you how to mute your friends in Apex Legends.

Teamplay is one of the most important aspects of Apex Legends, and the game does a good job at implementing it. There are, of course, some problems, but considering that the game has been on the market for only a few weeks and that there are updates on the way, we are keeping our fingers crossed that those updates will include solutions. One thing that I believe Respawn did well was the addition of the multiplayer component to the game. I believe that it is one reason why it has gained such popularity and is continuing to do so.

When working with pickup groups, voice communications will almost always present a number of challenges. You either get people who want to talk all the time, tell you their life story, or scream down the mic every time they get a kill, or you get people who say nothing but leave the radio on or leave the mic open in a busy household. When it works, it is wonderful. It’s a pain in the neck when it doesn’t work. Because of this, it might come in handy to know how to mute other people.

How To Mute Teammates in Apex Legends

Although I’ve only been playing for a month, I’ve already muted teammates more times than I should have. This should be an absolute last choice, but I’ve found myself in situations where it’s necessary. But I also like to be able to comprehend what is being said, and I don’t always want to know what is going on in other parts of your house. Although I adore the multicultural component of gaming and its appeal to a global audience, I also prefer to be able to.

In Apex Legends, there are two different ways for you to silence teammates. You have the option to mute specific teammates while you are playing the game or turn off voice chat entirely from the Settings menu. I’ll demonstrate both to you.

In order to switch off your voice for good:

  1. From the main lobby screen, select the Settings option.
  2. Choose Audio, then reduce the Voice Chat volume to 0.

Because there does not appear to be a switch that can be used to turn the feature on or off, decreasing the volume is the next best option. There is a configuration option that can convert incoming voice chat to speech, but I have not yet experimented with that one.

Should the necessity arise, you also have the ability to muzzle specific players within the game:

  1. You can access your inventory even while you’re playing a match.
  2. Select the Squad tab located at the top of the screen.
  3. To mute the speakers, click the speaker icon that is located underneath the player.

This is a solitary setting, and the other player will not be informed that they have been muted if you choose to use it. You can choose to turn this feature on or off whenever you need to, and you can do it separately for each team. Additionally, it only lasts for the duration of the match, which means that voice communications will return to normal after it concludes.

Personally, I like to mute when I need to since you never know when you’re going to run across a cool player or when someone is going to offer you some smart advise or piece of information that might make your day. Muting allows me to avoid missing out on these opportunities. However, you are free to act in any manner you see fit.
