How to Change your Twitch Username on a Desktop


Changing your nickname on Twitch is a reasonably straightforward process; but, if you are a streamer with a following, changing your username may come with some hassles, such as having to create a new URL for your channel. You have the option of only changing your display name, which will not have any impact on the URL of your channel or on your followers’ ability to locate you. 1. Navigate to the website for Twitch.

2. Navigate to the top-right corner of the screen and select the icon that looks like a profile. Please ensure that you are logged into your account if you haven’t previously done so.

3. Click Settings in the menu that drops down from the top.

4. While still on the Profile tab, scroll down until you reach the area labelled Profile Settings. To edit your profile, use the pencil symbol that is located to the right of your username.

5. In the new window that has shown, type in the new username that you want to use. To update, click here.

6. After entering your password, click the Confirm button.
