How to Fast Travel in Red Dead Redemption 2
When you first start playing Red Dead Redemption 2, you might find yourself questioning whether or not the game even includes a quick travel option. You’ll be doing a lot of riding over lengthy distances, and there’s a good chance you’ll start wishing there was some way to cut some of that out. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to skip the early travel portion of the game, but you will be able to gain quick travel a little bit later on.
If you’ve played the first instalment of Red Dead Redemption, the game’s fast travel options will feel quite familiar to you when you play Red Dead Redemption 2. In Red Dead Redemption 2, you have three different ways for making rapid travel: Via stagecoach, via train, or via camp. In Red Dead Redemption 2, you may learn how to unlock all of the different ways to fast travel by reading the following instructions.
Since the game’s release, we have compiled a significant number of guides for Red Dead Redemption 2. You’ll be able to locate each one on our RDR2 Walkthrough Hub.
How to Fast Travel by Train
It is not necessary to do anything more than locate a post office in order to buy train tickets and begin your journey by rail. You can make a purchase for a train ticket to any railway station in the game, but in order to use this form of quick travel to get there, you will need to have already been there.
How to Fast Travel by Stagecoach
When it comes to stagecoaches, you have a great deal more leeway. You can be instantly transported to any city, town, or village that you have already explored just by going to the stagecoach marker on the map and interacting with the sign there. Prices for both stagecoaches and rail travel will, of course, change depending on the distance that passengers will be travelling.
How to Fast Travel from Camps
However, there is a third, more covert method of quick travel in Red Dead Redemption 2 that you should be aware of. The ledger contains an improvement for Dutch’s accommodations that costs $220. In order to activate the ability to quick travel from your camp, you must first pay for the upgrade for Dutch’s lodgings.
After you have improved Dutch’s tent, you may next make a purchase from the ledger to improve the map at a cost of $325. After you have completed this step, a map will materialise in your camp somewhere. If you make use of this map, you will be able to immediately fast travel to any town, starting from your camp.
