why does hair fall while applying oil
Hair fall while applying oil is caused due to the excess of the oil product applied. The excess oil get accumulated at the root and makes them heavy, which ultimately gives rise to hair fall. This is particularly seen in people who applies coconut or olive oil as such oils are thicker and hence more quantity needs to be applied for effective results.
Maybe Roots have got accumulated with dirt over time
It’s also possible that the roots have got accumulated with dirt over time and adding oil makes it slippery and give rise to dead cells accumulating on top making it look like a lot of build up. But this reason doesn’t explain why we sometimes see few strands here and there instead of continuous hair fall. It also doesn’t explain why hair falls more on the head and less on other parts of the body.
Why Hair Fall Happens?
I think what happens is that if your scalp is healthy, oil will make it slippery [how?] and hence cells from the scalp will start accumulating at the root which makes it look like lot of build up (etc) but this doesn’t explain why we see few strands instead of continuous hair fall.
It also doesn’t explain why hair falls more on the head than other parts of the body. If your scalp isn’t healthy, oil can’t make these cells accumulate at the root because they are already accumulated there to begin with making you feel that you’ve got build up or bad product in your head. So people who suffer from chronic dryness would be having this problem in most cases.
Dos and don’ts of oiling your hair
Oil is great for your hair, but only if you use it the right way. Here are some dos and don’ts of oiling your hair:
DO:
• Use a light oil like argan or jojoba oil.
• Apply the oil to the tips of your hair.
• Massage the oil into your scalp.
DON’T:
• Use a heavy oil like coconut oil.
• Apply the oil to your roots.
• Leave the oil in your hair overnight.
It’s also possible that your scalp is dry and applying oil makes it slippery and the cells from the scalp start accumulating at the roots making it look like lot of build up but this doesn’t explain why we see few strands instead of continuous hair fall or maybe even no hair fall at all.
In such a case, what was needed was a moisturizer which would have made your scalp healthy enough to get rid of these accumulated cells at the root by itself. It only takes a very good moisturizer to make your hair fall out due to accumulation of dirt on top. And i’m not talking about people with oily scalps here because I don’t think they ever suffer from excessive hair fall. So using oil can actually make your problem worse if you don’t have a healthy scalp.
