Will these titles be fully affected?
No they will not be. They will obviously lose their online status but they will still be able to be played as a single player by the hardcore fans.
There are some exceptions to the list quoted and Far Cry 3 and Assasain’s Creed 3 you will still be able to play this if you purchased the remastered version. However, in terms of Ghost Recon Future Soldier you will only be able to play the single mode version but not even be able to link it up to your Ubisoft account and unlock all those precious goodies.
Why are they doing this?
Who better to say it than Ubisoft themselves. In a blog post concerning the matter they stated, “Closing the online services for some older games allows us to focus our resources on delivering great experiences for players who are playing newer or more popular titles. To help us achieve this, a number of older titles will be added to our list of decommissioned online services.”
So you best play those games online for as long as you can because before you know it your game will become classic and you will not be able to play it against other people.
