How To Get Mending Enchantment in Minecraft

Published

A beloved object in Minecraft is a bittersweet experience; while it is wonderful to have it, it will not remain in your possession indefinitely. Everything in Minecraft, including Netherite Tools, is built to last for a long time. However, there are methods for mending cherished possessions, such as the mending enchantment.

Anastasia Maillot made the following update on November 11, 2021: Mending has remained one of the most essential and powerful enchantments in the game, if not the most potent, for the foreseeable future. It is, without a doubt, the most sought-after enchanting book among gamers, and with good cause. Unless something better comes along, it’s doubtful that this equilibrium will move in the next patching cycle.

Mojang, on the other hand, has tweaked the way Mending works and how it may be obtained during the course of the game’s development in order to make the game appropriately tough. This article on how to achieve Mending in Minecraft has been updated to reflect the most recent information available on the subject.

How Mending Works In Minecraft

Mending is an enchantment that can be placed on almost any tool or weapon in Minecraft that has the capacity to withstand damage. Each time an item has Mending activated on it, all experience points earned will be used to repair the item at a rate of 2 durability per experience point earned. Repairing an object consumes experience points, which means that Minecraft players will not receive the experience points that are being spent to repair the item. Only things in the player’s hand, off-hand, or armour slots may be repaired; items in the player’s inventory are not repaired.

A player can have many things with Mending on them at the same time; however, only one of these can be fixed at a time, and the experience will be given to a randomly chosen one of these.

How To Find Mending Enchantment Books

Players must first come across a mending book in order to be able to use it to enchant an item with a mending enchantment. Mending, on the other hand, cannot be constructed using an enchanting table, unlike the majority of other Minecraft enchantments. These books will have to be obtained by the players either by purchase, discovery, or looting.

  • Fishing – Mending enchantment books can be fished up from water sources just like fish in Minecraft. While some consider fishing boring, it is one of the easiest and fastest ways of getting Mending for items.
  • Looting Chests – Mending enchantment books can be found in Dungeon Chests, Temples, End Cities, and most other kinds of chests found around the map. If players are already out and about looking for loot, they will most likely find a Mending book or two without any extra effort. End Cities have the highest chance of yielding tons of enchanted gear and weapons.
  • Trading – Look for a villager who is a librarian and trade with them. Librarians will trade one random enchantment book for an emerald.

How To Use An Enchanted Mending Book

Minecraft users will need to construct an anvil in order to utilize the enchantment nook. Place the item to be enchanted in the first slot of the anvil, then the Mending Book in the second slot to complete the process. The failure of this method may indicate that the players may not have sufficient experience to enchant the item they have chosen.

In addition, mending is incompatible with the Infinity enchantment that may be found on select bows. It may, however, be used in conjunction with Unbreaking to effectively make objects that have Unbreaking nearly indestructible.
