How to Gift Skins and Items in Fortnite

In Fortnite, the process of gifting has been simplified and can now be accessible quickly and easily through the Item Shop. You are unable to present skins that are already stored in your locker after the release of Chapter 2 Season 5, but you are able to gift skins purchased via the marketplace. No one knows for sure why they took away the option to give away skins from your locker, but we can still hold out hope that they may put it back at some point in the future. For the time being, please refer to the guidelines that are provided below to learn how to give Skins and Items purchased through the Item Shop.

How to Gift Skins and Items in Fortnite

Open the Item Shop

It may be hard to believe, but not everyone is familiar with the location of the Item Shop. It is possible to access it while you are playing the game by loading the main screen, which also allows you to select different game modes and check your friends list. The button for the Item Shop menu has been highlighted in the image that is currently displayed above. Item Shop is where you’ll find it at the very top of the screen that contains the menu options. Simply click the link to gain access to it!

Select the Item You want to Send as a Gift

Anything can be chosen as the option! This encompasses emotes, dances, skins, and wraps, among other cosmetic options. Simply choose the item that you would like to give to your friend, and the page for that item will open. On the product page, there is a gift option that you can select to activate.

Select Buy as a Gift

You may now send a gift much more quickly and easily, just as we promised! Once you have chosen an item, the following step is not the last one, but it is rather straightforward. When you click the Buy as a Gift button (which is underlined in the image), you will be taken to a page where you can choose which of your friends you would like to give it to as a present.

Choose Your Friend

We are aware of the fact that you probably have a large number of friends, and as a result, you are unable to decide to whom you should send the present. Click the tick that’s next to their name once you’ve figured out how to solve that challenge (highlighted in orange). You have the option of sending it to more than one person at a time; but, doing so will cost you more V-Bucks. There is no “one size fits all” solution here! After you have chosen your buddy or friends, you can proceed to the last screen by clicking the Continue button.

Send it!

Clicking the Send button is all that is required of you at this point, as shown in the image that is displayed above. Once you’ve do that, you’re done! Your friend will be able to see their gleaming new item when they check their Fortnite locker!

Unfortunately, due to the fact that you are unable to send gifts from your Locker, you will not be able to finish a quest in order to acquire a skin in order to give it to a buddy. We are keeping our fingers crossed that they will, like they have in the past, eventually let us send in skins that we have already purchased.

Can you gift a skins if you already have it?

Because there is no trading function in Fortnite, it is unfortunately not feasible to give away any of the skins you already have in your inventory to other players. The same guideline applies to any other thing you want to give away as a present. You are required to make a brand-new purchase from the Item Shop for anything you intend to provide to a pal as a present.
