The Microsoft software group has released its Outlook app for Mac in the completely revised version 16.58. Now it offers all users the design, which has been fine-tuned in beta tests for over a year. The email application can be installed by anyone who has an existing Microsoft 365 account, i.e., has a current Microsoft Office subscription or shares it with the family. Annual access for up to six people is still available at a bargain price.
Available in AppStore
According to Microsoft, the new Outlook application is significantly faster than its predecessor and has an improved search function. Moreover, it has been completely redesigned visually. The Mac iOS supports the dark mode, and Outlook has received the so-called “focused mode” for the inbox, which can be used on all macOS versions starting from macOS 10.14. If you want to move your mailbox to Outlook, you will have to use the email migration tool available by the link.
At least one existing email account is required for use. The program supports all regular POP and IMAP accounts, but also comes with separate support for Microsoft 365 Exchange Online, Outlook.com, Google, iCloud, and Yahoo accounts.
Not All Functions Are Available Yet
It is important to know that the new version does not yet support all the features provided by previous versions. For example, contact lists, local folders, the import and export of PST files, the setting of reminders, and the use of notes will only be available for a certain time. The integration of the system’s data will also follow later. What exactly will you receive with a new version for MAC? Here is a list of the improvements:
- Configurable toolbar;
- Improved search;
- My Day feature to follow the agenda and calendar;
- Recommended time for scheduling a meeting;
- Improved responses to invitations;
- Convenient attachment options;
- Better event scheduling;
- Working elsewhere feature;
- Bad style correction tips when writing a letter, etc.
As you can see, Microsoft offers a bunch of new useful functions for their main email client.
