How to Turn Off Drop-In on Alexa
Drop-In is one of the new features that was launched by Amazon with the launch of the Echo Show. This feature enables users to virtually visit the Echo, Echo Dot, or Echo Show of another person. When you drop in, you will receive an audio feed from that person’s Echo device instantly, and in the case of the Show, you will see a video stream after around 10 seconds has elapsed. On the other hand, if you don’t want someone to walk in on you unexpectedly and perhaps catch you doing something that you don’t want other people to see, you can easily disable this option in the Alexa app that’s on your smartphone if you don’t want people to see what you’re doing. The following explains how to disable Drop-In on Alexa. So let’s get started:

How to Turn Off Drop-In on Alexa
You have the option to turn off the feature within the Alexa app, which will keep prying eyes and ears away from your device. There are a few phases involved in completing the process. The following is all that is required of you:
1. Launch the Alexa app by tapping its icon, then tapping the device symbol at the bottom of the screen. After that, choose your electronic gadget. You can change the settings of your device by selecting Settings at the bottom of the fly-in menu, and then selecting Device Settings from the window that appears next.
2. The option titled “Device Settings” provides a list of all of the Alexa-enabled devices that you have linked. Scroll through the list, and when you find the device you want, tap on it to choose it. Following this link will take you to the settings menu for the relevant Echo.
3. You will need to scroll down once more and then pick Communication from the drop-down menu that appears under the General tab in order to access the option to turn off Drop-In. You’ll find the feature towards the bottom of the Communication window; to access more customization options, you’ll need to tap on it.
4. Within the settings for the Drop-In, you have the ability to select one of three alternative options. If you keep the function turned on, only the contacts you have authorized will be able to drop in on your smartphone. Only Drop-Ins from devices associated with your account are permitted when using the “My Household” option. But if you click Off at the bottom of the screen, Drop-In will be fully disabled, and no one will be able to bother you.
NOTE: that all of this information only pertains to the device that you have chosen. You are going to need to repeat the process for every Echo that is connected.
