How to Disable Your Proxy in Chrome

A proxy server is a computer that acts as a conduit between your computer and the internet. There are several types of proxy servers. It is widely employed in order to mask your real location and to grant you access to websites that would otherwise be inaccessible to you. All proxies, on the other hand, do not give the same level of privacy protection as a virtual private network (VPN). How to Disable proxy for Chrome on Windows

1. To access the Chrome Menu, click on the drop-down menu in the browser toolbar.

2. Make a selection from the Configuration drop-down menu.

3. From the drop-down menu, select Advanced from the list.

4. From the drop-down option in the System section, choose Open your computer’s proxy settings from the list. For  users of the Windows 7 and Windows 8 or 8.1 operating systems, the Internet Properties window will be shown by default.

5. Automatic proxy configuration may be disabled by selecting Disable automatic detect settings from the drop-down menu in the configuration window.

6. Turn off the Use a proxy server option under Manual proxy configuration by clicking on it.

7. By clicking on the Save option, you can keep track of your progress.

How to Disable proxy for Chrome on Mac

1. To access the Chrome Menu from the browser toolbar, click on the drop-down menu that appears. After that, select the Settings option.

2. From the drop-down menu at the bottom of the screen, select Advanced from the options.

3. From the System drop-down box, choose Open the proxy settings on your machine to view them. As a result of doing this step, the Network Settings window will be shown.

4. Uncheck all of the protocols on the Proxies tab, under the section headed “Select a protocol to configure” on the Proxies tab.

5. To proceed, press the OK button. You should be able to close the configuration windows at this point.
