How to Get Iron in Stardew Valley

In order to craft iron bars in Stardew Valley, you will first need to collect iron ore, which, as was said earlier, can be found deep within the mines.

To get the most out of your exploration of the mines in Stardew Valley, though, you won’t be able to simply head into the mines themselves; rather, you’ll need to head to a specific level in order to get the most out of your excursion.

In light of this, the mine levels that we advise you to explore are anywhere from level 41 to level 79, as it is within these mine levels that you will locate a significant quantity of iron ore. As a side note, before you enter into the mines, there is a colorful NPC named the Dwarf that you can meet inside; in addition to this, ensure that you bring a pickaxe to mine the iron ore.

If you have the Miner profession, you will be able to enhance the amount of iron ore you acquire from striking it with the pickaxe when you find some. While you are within the mines, if you don’t feel like mining the ore, you can find it as loot with the following items:

  • Metal Heads
  • Stone Golems
  • Dust Sprites
  • Iron Slimes
  • Geodes
  • Barrels and Crates

In addition, iron ore can be obtained from panning, the contents of fishing chests, and ice pip fish ponds until the population exceeds three.

How to make iron bars in Stardew Valley

In order to successfully produce iron bars, it is required to first take iron ore and then place it inside of a furnace. You will need to acquire at least one piece of copper ore before the recipe for the furnace will become available to you.

After this, in order to trigger a cutscene with Clint, you will need to venture outside of your home between the hours of six in the morning and eleven in the morning.

Clint will provide you with the recipe to make a furnace, and in order to do so, you will need 25 stones and 20 copper. If you follow the instructions, you will be able to successfully create a furnace. In Stardew Valley, once you have constructed the furnace, you will be able to utilize it to generate iron bars by feeding it five pieces of iron ore and one piece of coal once you have first constructed the furnace.
