How to Find Your Skype ID In Android and iOS
Your Skype name is a unique identifier for your account. It is a string of digits and letters that begins with the word “live” and can be found in your Skype settings. This ID used to be a personalized username that you choose when you first created a Skype account; however, once Microsoft acquired Skype, this function was removed. If you joined Skype while it was still in its infancy, there’s a chance that your original, personalized username is still active.
Whatever the case may be, neither the previous username nor the newly generated one can be altered at this time. You are, however, able to modify the name that is displayed to others when you use Skype; for information on how to do so, please refer to our post on “How to change your Skype display name, so that it is easier for friends or employers to locate you.” Your Skype ID can be located in your profile on Skype, as well as in the mobile apps for iOS and Android devices

FAQs
Is Skype ID my email?
Other than your email address or phone number, your Skype name is the username you created when you initially joined Skype. This is distinct from your email address or phone number. If you access Skype by entering an email address or a phone number as part of the sign-in process, rather than a Skype Name, then you have a Microsoft account rather than a Skype Name.
Is Skype ID same as Skype address?
They are, in fact, the same thing. There is a tendency among some users to refer to Skype Names as Skype IDs, Skype handles, Skype usernames, and other similar terms. You can use this link to learn how to identify the Skype Name associated with your account.
Is it safe to share Skype ID?
Regrettably, there is no way to conceal your identity on Skype from the people you have added as contacts. When they view your Profile screen, they will see your Skype Name displayed there as well. If your Skype Name is in the format “live:name,” then it is feasible to determine the domain of the email address that corresponds to this “name.”
How can I make my Skype ID instead of email?
Due to the recent simplifications made to the process of creating a new account, choosing a username for Skype is no longer an option. It is not possible to modify Skype names at this time. Where is my Skype ID on Mac?
You’ll find it in the upper-left hand corner of Skype. This displays the information that is in your profile. Look under your name for the Skype ID that you use. It’s possible that you’ll see the term “live” before your Skype ID, but it’ll depend on when and how you registered your account.
Can I edit my Skype ID?
There has never been an option to change your username on Skype. You can only change the name that appears in public. You also have the option of making a new account by using the email address or phone number associated with your existing one (Microsoft account). This information will be used to produce an ID for the new account, which will be in the live:ID format.
