Red Dead Redemption 2 Guide – How To Complete All Missions In Chapter 1

In Red Dead Redemption 2, there are plenty of missions you will need to complete. Each mission has a gold medal checklist, a list of objectives to complete in order to get the best possible score. You might won’t notice it at the first time you play, so, in this article, I have listed all the missions in Chapter 1 of Red Dead Redemption 2, including the steps on how to complete them.

In case if you fail to get a Gold Medal or simply want to replay a mission, you can do it by checking your progress in the pause menu. Now read the steps carefully and follow them to complete each mission.

All Missions In Chapter 1 Red Dead Redemption 2

1. Outlaws From The West

You will be rewarded with a medal in “Outlaws From The West” mission if you could achieve the following tasks:

• Take no damage during the shootout
• Loot 5 or more items from Adler Ranch
• Complete with at least 80% accuracy

Here are the steps to complete the mission:

• First, you have to learn how to control the horse with following the on-screen prompts
• Then follow the Dutch through the snow until you bump into Micah, while you ride towards your destination, you can pull up alongside the lead horse and hold L2 for some additional dialogue options
• Once you reached, you will be told to hide in the shed, there’s the cattle shed on the left,  not the outhouse with the light on ahead of you, so go left around the back, and bend down inside.

• When prompted, pull your weapon and start firing the enemies which should be easy to clear and don’t forget to try and pick off the straggler that springs through the snow to the north

• Now enter the house, pick up the food from the left side, and refill your health and health care instructed. There are more supplies you can find up the ladder, then return outside when done.
• Search whole over the shed to the south-east for a tutorial interrogating an O’Driscoll. Then it’s up to you whether you will release him or not.

• If you’re done, now grab your gun and hat, the radar will give the locations for you, then calm the horse as prompted.

2. Enter, Pursued by a Memory

You will be rewarded with a medal in “Enter, Pursued by a Memory” mission if you could achieve the following tasks:

• Kill all the wolves without taking any damage
• Complete with at least 80% accuracy

Here are the steps to complete the mission:

• Follow Javier wherever he goes up the cliffs, and get off the horse when prompted by the cliffside. To get the shotgun, you have to hold multiple shoulder buttons (hold L1 or left bumper, then R2 or right trigger)

• After the linear section, you will see some wolves. Make sure you hold the shoulder button before pressing Square (or X on Xbox) to distract the wolves, otherwise you will just leap in the snow. Now that they’re on you, fire at each one to take them down.

• You will have more to kill while riding back on the horse. It’s more difficult to aim at speed, but if you crash into them, you can block them from the other horse, or even run them over.

3. Old Friends

You will be rewarded with a medal in “Old Friends” mission if you could achieve the following tasks:

• Catch and hogtie Kieran within 45 seconds
• Kill 3 O’Driscolls in the same Dead Eye use
• Complete within 15 minutes 30 seconds
• Get 15 headshots
• Complete the mission without taking any health items

Here are the steps to complete the mission:

• Follow the gang until you reach the top of the hill overlooking the camp. When prompted, grab your rifle from your horse, and follow them down to the settlement.

• Once you’re ready, start firing them, remain behind cover at all times and push forward when you think it’s safe, and if you’re struggling to spot enemies, remember the reticle will turn red when you’re aiming at someone

• More will come from the trees after looting some bodies, once all clear, you need to search a house at the south of where your gang gathers, then check the dynamite box in the corner
• On the way back to camp, you must chase after someone who got escaped from the shootout. As prompted, lasso them (wait until you are close enough that the reticule goes red) and don’t forget to keep holding the left shoulder button when you get off the horse
• Now, follow the mini-map directions back to camp to complete the mission

4. The Aftermath of Genesis

You will be rewarded with a medal in “The Aftermath of Genesis” mission if you could achieve the following tasks:

• Kill each deer with one arrow
• Do not spook either deer
• Get a clean kill on the second deer

Here are the steps to complete the mission:

• Follow Charles until he finds the scent of dear. Get off your horse, grab the bow and proceed onward
• Usee the eagle vision by clicking in the two sticks to follow the scent. Mostly, you will need to keep the stream to your left, and soon enough, you will find a deer
• Chase for the head then you will kill it successfully
• Approach the deer corpse and use the vision again, then you will be instructed to go over the river
• Once you’re at the river, keep it close to your right until you come to another two deers, give them a headshot as well

5. Who the hell is Leviticus Cornwall?

You will be rewarded with a medal in “Who the hell is Leviticus Cornwall?” mission if you could achieve the following tasks:

• Save Lenny when he is hanging from the train
• After stopping the train, take out the guards within 1 minute 30 seconds
• Take no damage during the shootout
• Get 10 headshots
• Complete the mission without taking any health items

Here are the steps to complete the mission:

• Follow the gang until you reach the train tracks, and go down and assist with laying the dynamite. Or you also can look at the mini-map to see where to place the barrel once you’ve grabbed it

• After things go wrong, sprint after the others and leap onto the train
• Press forward and kill the enemies, Dead Eye can make things easier here if you’re struggling
• At one or two points you will have to climb to the roof to progress, there’s no button prompts, so you have to press Square (or X on Xbox) to vault up
• Once you’re at the front and dealt with everyone, you can stop the train, clear the guards and your gang will show up

• Set the explosives and begin exploring the back car. There are a few letters you can collect and other items for your own personal stash, but remember, search for the cabinet at the very back right corner, open it up, and search the lockbox for Bonds

• Now leave, and deal with the guards. If you threaten them, they will get on the train. If you aim your weapon, you can kill them where they stand.
• Either way, you will have to sprint to the front of the train afterward and set it on a motion. Grab your horse and head back to complete the mission.

6. Eastwood Bound

You will be rewarded with a medal in “Eastwood Bound” mission if you could achieve the following tasks:

• Pick up Javier when entering Horseshoe Overlook
• Complete within 6 minutes

Here are the steps to complete the mission:

• This mission will automatically start when you finish Who the hell is Leviticus Cornwall. After the cutscene, the wagon’s wheel will fall off, follow the prompts to repair it

• Now, simply follow the yellow trail on the mini-map to make it to the camp
• Don’t forget to stop off near the camp to pick up another of your crew when prompted if you want to complete all the objectives
