Ever thought you’re addicted to your phone? I bet we all are these days and the simple fact is that we don’t spend as much time looking at the people or the world around us because our eyes are glued to a 6” screen that shows us wonderful things. But every now and then we need to pull out of this bubble, I even say that it is necessary to do that. Enough looking at our phones while walking the dog, driving our cars, sitting on the toilet and even while watching a movie we leave the big screen for this smaller one. I’m not saying having a smartphone is a bad thing, it helps us with work, life and a whole lot more, I’m saying, we need a break from it every once in a while. To give you this “smartphone detox” if you will, Punkt. was made.

As soon as you open the box you find yourself looking at a tiny screen that is not colored by the way, and a while bunch of buttons. This keypad is called a ‘qwerty’, something we used before touchscreens came along. I still remember the hyper-fast key clicks to type in a short message using the T9 system. Some were so skilled that they could type an entire message without looking at the screen and carrying a conversation with someone. Those were the days when the phones were mainly used for conversation, whether via text or phone calls. And then came the smartphones that opened the Pandora’s Box of possibilities and content. Everyone took a liking to them and since the launch of iPhone and the App Store, we have been drawn them big ol’ screens like a moth to a flame.

The Internet as a tool

The device can be used as a WiFi tether device for laptop or tablet. So the LTE on-board makes a lot more sense. The idea is to keep your phone time at minimum which Punkt. MP02 achieves brilliantly. It is not for everyone though, you would have to make a difficult call when you purchase it. It can be used as a good back up phone for those who are on the go all the time and can’t afford to miss a call. Having this small device can simply give you a piece of mind.
